How to Switch
Check your Compatibility
From BYOD to Xfinity Mobile, it has to be compatible with our network.
Most iPhones, Samsung Galaxy phones, and Google Pixel phones are compatible with Xfinity Mobile.
You can bring your Apple Watch if you have the latest version of watchOS.
Motorola and LG phones originally purchased from Xfinity Mobile are also compatible.
Make sure your phone is Unlocked
In addition to being compatible, your phone also needs to be unlocked. Carriers often lock the phones they sell so that they won’t work on other networks. Your phone may also be locked if you still have a balance due, but you can usually unlock your phone once you make the payment. Check with your current carrier if you’re not sure. Apple users will need to complete a backup and factory reset after the previous carrier has confirmed that they have unlocked the device.
An Xfinity Mobile SIM card is the key to activating your phone on the Xfinity Mobile network.
If you already have an Xfinity Mobile nanoSIM (physical SIM) card or purchased an eSIM-compatible device, simply login to your account and visit the Devices page to set up your phone on an existing Xfinity Mobile line.
You can also order a NanoSIM card online.
If you’re new to Xfinity Mobile, billing for your line will begin either when your SIM card (nanoSIM or eSIM) is activated or seven days after your nanoSIM card ships, whichever comes first.
If you are adding a line to an existing Xfinity Mobile account, billing for the line will begin immediately when your eSIM is activated or when your nanoSIM card is ordered, whether or not the nanoSIM card is activated.
Choose your Data Option
When you BYOD with Xfinity Mobile, you are free to choose between our data options, by Gig or Unlimited.
Starts at 1GB by Gig for $15/month and can be shared with other lines on your account.
Unlimited data for as little as $30/month per line when you buy four lines.
To get the multi-line unlimited pricing, you’ll need to be on our latest plan.
Upgrade your plan by visiting My Account online or in the Xfinity mobile app.
When you BYOD with Xfinity Mobile, a one-time line setup fee of $10 will be included in your first monthly bill for that line.

If Your Phone Isn’t Compatible
Different carriers and manufacturers use different network technology. As a result, not all devices are made for all networks. When a device is made for use on one carrier, it may not work with the technology used on another.
If your device isn’t compatible with the Xfinity Mobile network, but you still want to join us, you can shop for a new device. If you’re an Xfinity Mobile customer, you can receive payment for your old devices through Assurant, our trade-in partner.
How do I know my IMEI is compatible? Every phone has a unique number—15 digits that tell you the make, model, and whether it’s ready to use on our network. Most phones are compatible. IMEI Status Check: Dial *#06# to get your phone’s IMEI, or find it in phone settings.
Why is my IMEI not compatible? When a phone is locked to a particular network, the IMEI number won’t work until the carrier removes the lock. So your only solution is to contact the previous carrier and ask them to unlock the device.
What can IMEI tell you? The IMEI number matters because it can give information about the device type (Android or iOS), model number, network, country of origin, warranty information, date of purchase, and other details about the phone.
Are Xfinity Phones Locked or Unlocked? Only the account holder, primary user, or manager of the phone’s original Xfinity Mobile account may request the phone to be unlocked. Also, to get started, chat with an agent. We do not unlock phones for international travel unless these requirements are met.
Which SIM cards are compatible with Xfinity Mobile? All Android phones used with Xfinity Mobile use nanoSIMs (physical SIM cards). iPhone models older than the iPhone X series also use nanoSIM. The iPhone X series through the iPhone 13 have dual SIM capabilities. So most of the devices being used on the Xfinity Mobile network are using NanoSIM.
